Weeds

We are in the process of taking down our age old back fence in order to replace it. This is hard enough work, which Dale enjoys doing, but the worst part are the weeds and vines which took over the area just inside the fence. The more slats were taken out, the more vines and weeds we saw which sat between our Lilac bushes and the fence. We can pull and yank til the cows come home but it is no fun at all.

Vinegar: standard white vinegar will help kill weeds in your garden without spreading harmful chemicals.  It can also help combat slugs, snails, ants, flies, and you can mix with dish soap to help it stick better.

Boiling water: One quick way to instantly rid yourself of pesky weeds is to pour boiling water on them and kill them at the root.

I'm going to try the vinegar, boiling water would be way too much trouble for the large space we have. The article also talks about insect pests and other things, but right now all I care about is getting rid of weeds and vines.
