What I spent the weekend doing was painting the Collinsville living room. I'd hoped to get to the dining room as well, but it has taken longer than I expected. It isn't as though I haven't painted these rooms before. I have, at least twice. I'd forgotten how much cut in work is involved here. We have baseboards and window and door moldings and ceiling edges. Oy. We have to get this done because in a week or so the flooring people are coming to take up the carpet and refinish the hardwood floors underneath.
The above the the wall I've done this morning. We decided we wanted white walls for a change. It's very dark in these rooms because of the front porch and trees and the stained glass. We're pretty happy with it so far and we have more than enough framed art to add some color.
This view is looking into the library off the living room. That will be last because there is very little wall space do to windows on two walls and door opening as well as an entire wall of bookshelves on the right.
The dining room is next, it's on the right and I'm dreading it knowing all the moldings to go around, but I am going to get this done.
I finally finished the living room this morning and I have to say, I'd like to meet the former owner of this house who thought it was a great idea to do a textured plaster for these walls. it makes painting so much harder and longer.
The walls have a bit of a yellowish cast but that is due to the lamp light and the stained glass. It goes white as the day goes on and the light changes.
