Last week Dale went over to our house in Collinsville to do some work on his computer there and found this on the front door. Actually there were two of them.
Front side:
He gave them to me to check out. Obviously whatever it is that was supposed to be delivered was not since no one was home. This is rare, actually. Most of the time packages are left even if no one is home. I followed the instructions of which there were 3 options. The first was too download the Fedex app for iphone and then scan the barcode. I started with this, downloaded the app and then quit when the app wanted me to "join" and get a username and password. I'm sorry, I just don't want another program that requires all this. So I went on to the second option.
This was weirder. Text the word Follow and the door tag to the number 48773. So I did this. And got these text messages back: FedEx: "Invalid keyword, please text HELP for help. So I did this and got this response: "FedEx: For ongoing tracking updates: Type FOLLOW with space, and tracking number. Or type HELP with keyword: TRACK, TERMS, REMOVE, STOP or (link) mobilesolutions.fedex.com/sms-tracking.
This did nothing and the response I received was this: FedEx: Welcome! Reply YES to opt-in and receive future notifications on packages you want to track. msg&data rates may apply. So I texted this nonsense and got this response: The tracking number you entered is invalid. Please correct and retry."
Ok. Enough of this. Yesterday we went over to Collinsville to watch the church service from that house and there were two more of these door tags on the front door. For Pete's sake! After the church service I decided to bite the bullet and download the darn app and get a user name and password and then try it. Guess what? I filled out the form on the app and kept getting the notice the information would not download "at this time".
Can you say, "I give up on FedEx." We've not had many good experiences with them and this is just one more. I'll take UPS anytime, but it doesn't help get this current package delivered. I asked our nextdoor neighbor if he'd keep a look-out for FedEx and take the package for us. I also left a note to that effect on the door. We'll see.
No where on the door tag was a tracking number. The back side did not have any thing which would have required to driver to not just leave the package. And, we don't know what the package is because we haven't ordered anything. Someone must have sent us something but we don't know who.
Both delivery services are endangering tier lives going door to door. You may not know it, but UPS is Union and the workers make great wages. Fed Express is non-union and the workers make a fraction of what the others get paid. They are two different operations and one does not treat its employees very well. Some of the FedEx drivers may have to buy their own trucks and routes.

Frank, does that mean FedEx doesn’t have to make their written instructions workable? I have nothing against this delivery person, its how impossible it is to follow unworkable website, texts, and App

I just wanted to educate you on the difference between the two companies. I thought they were the same, until a disgruntled Fed Exp employee educated me on the employer differences.
