Tomorrow is Call Day here at the seminary, a day in which the second year students receive their vicarage assignments for next year's internship year in a congregation which could be anywhere in the US. In the evening, the graduating 4th year students receive their calls to what will be a congregation they will pastor. So the anticipation and, yes, stress, is high around the campus.
It's one of the greatest days of the year, filled with families here for the two services, nervous students, visiting district presidents from around the country coming into town to greet their future pastors and vicars. We're also running a gauntlet of preparation work in the landscape and offices and food service and all the rest. It's all hands on deck to make things go as smoothly and beautifully as possible.
I'd say that although graduation is a much busier two days with many more events connected to it, Call Day is the biggest day of the year, with countdowns having begun back in January by the students. 3 more months, 95 days, and now we're down to one day. Here's what we have to get into the ground in our yard before tomorrow.

I'm not sure it will be possible, we may have to go with just arranging some of the flats in a pretty manner. All flowers from Creekside in Collinsville or Ahner's in New Baden. Two of the best nurseries around.
