Another study. Researchers studying obesity at Ohio State found that the amount of food in the homes of the obese and non-obese was about the same. The difference was where the food was found — all around the house in the homes of obese study participants and put away in the homes of those of normal weight.
Which means, in the homes of obese people there was more likely to be food sitting around in sight with ease of grabbing a handful of whatever it happened to be. Candy, cookies, chips etc. Non obese people had the habit of putting food away in cupboards or pantries.
As an aside, I was deciding how to spell cupboard (often pronounce-cubboard) and realized it looks like cup board which probably means that back in the old days, cups were set on a shelf. Or something. Also, do people say cupboards anymore or is it just cabinets?
