With Fair St. Louis moving to Forest Park this Fourth of July because of Arch grounds reconstruction work, it's beginning to look as though fair goers will be facing a parking nightmare. No parking on the park streets will be allowed which means using the current 7 lots and two makeshift lots. Two of those 7 are at the zoo and officials will attempt to keep them reserved for zoo patrons.
It does appear as though city, park and fair officials have not completed a final parking plan for the 4th and the logistics are daunting. But on the other hand, even with all the parking garages downtown, parking for Fair St. Louis at the riverfront was always daunting as well and somehow people got to where they were going. Hopefully the same will hold true for this year.
St. Louisans need to get their minds around the concept of "shuttles" in 2014.
