Here's a stunner. The Chicago Sun-Times editorializes today about the election of Blagojevich.
The editorial chastises the voters of Illinois for electing this guy not once but twice. A reprimand from a Chicago paper which itself endorsed "a narcissistic goof of a governor who was all show and no substance."
With four months left before the November elections, it's essential that the voters of Illinois demand free-wheeling debates and study them closely -- and ignore those 30-second ads. Check out their resumes, and ignore the photo ops with babies and puppies. As the song says, "Don't get fooled again."
This is why more and more people have stopped taking everything written in newspapers and magazines at anything close to face value any more.
Really. The Sun-Times endorses democrats, the Trib used to always be counted on to endorse a republican. In St. Louis the P-D always endorses democrats.
So let's not get fooled again come election time and believe the papers have much more substance in their endorsements than Blago did as a candidate for governor.
