My sister was in town yesterday and we made a stop at Keller's Farm stand to pick up sweet corn and their own tomatoes.
Oh my. The corn was as good as always, one bite has everyone almost groaning at it's tender sweetness. But it was the tomatoes last night that stopped us. These were the first really ripe local tomatoes of the season and the deep red color and intense flavor made us all realize what we've missed. Unbelievably good.
Ask at the farm stands which type of corn is best on each day. Some days the bi-color is best another the yellow.
I'd guess Fournie's has tomatoes just as good, but we were right by Kellers. Don't miss out, the season does not last long.
Where is Keller's?
I've had tomatoes from farm stands, but they don't seem to be as good as some I remember, THEN, my sister gave me one from her neighbor.Deep red color and delicious.

Kellers has several farm stands, but the original one is on 157 south of St. Louis Road, between STL Road and Caseyville Road. They also have one near Home Depot in O'Fallon on Route 50. And, I think I saw on on 159 in the Maryville area.
