We went down to Concordia Park near DeMun tonight.
What's this?
Yellow caution tape all over the middle of the park.
Ah.
One of the huge old oaks developed an ugly crack. Let's take a closer look.
But, caution tape doesn't always stop people.
The seminary's grounds director, Gayle Zollmann, taped off a large area to keep people away in case the tree should fall. If it falls it will most likely bring down another big tree right next to it. And, they'd both fall onto the sidewalk, a walkway used by many people all day long. The seminary brought out a couple of tree companies today to make a start on having it cut down.
Nathan, our facilities director, put his iPhone into the tree to get this shot pointing up. The tree is completely hollow.
