Well, if you are an employee of the Scottsdale, Arizona, school district you can be important...or at least have a job title which is close to being incomprehensible. And the harder it is to understand someone's job title, the more important that person is. right? riiiiiiight.
The Scottsdale Unified School District has drastically changed job titles. The school receptionist is now know as the "Director of First Impressions" and the bus driver? The "Transporter of Learners".
Barbara Levine, Scottsdale's Director of First Impressions, loves her new title. "I think it's classy," she recently said while answering the telephone and directing a visitor to the right office. "It sounds so important. Everyone wants to be important."
But are the students learning? If school administrators have so much time on their hands that they can have meetings devoted to title changes, then wow, you gotta believe those kids score off the charts. And if they don't? Well...at least their educators feel important. via James Taranto, Best of the Web
