This is the first year the annual International Horseradish Festival in Collinsville was held on Main Street and boy, did the people come. In past years it was always held in Woodland Park which was ok, but hard to find parking and brought none of the crowds like this year's did. Collinsville horseradish farms provide the majority of the world's horseradish. The picture was taken by Alex Paz who took some fantastic festival photos.
This is amazing and as big or bigger than the annual Italian Fest crowds. People wanted to get out this weekend for sure. No matter the change in venue, the root toss contest was still part of the event. I used to always enter that contest and have the medals to show success. I didn't have the opportunity to go this year as we had things scheduled here. Darn. This looked great.
