The weather has been pretty unbearable lately with single digit temperatures. It makes us not want to go out at all and the effort of pulling on and off layers of clothes is tiring. Living on a campus means doing more walking from place to place out doors as opposed to going out of the house into a car and from the car into an office or store. Having a dog who rather likes the cold and wants to be out walking doesn't make it easier.
But yesterday I got unpleasant surprise when I went to start my truck. It went click click silence. Oh nuts. The battery was dead and the truck was facing the wrong way to get another car in front of it to jump it. So I went down to our wonderful maintenance guys to ask if they had any advice. Did you know there was such a thing as a portable battery jumper? Well there is and they had one. Two students who work part time with maintenance were sent over to the house and hooked that thing up and the truck started immediately. I'm thinking of getting one of these things, imagine how many times you could help someone start a battery if you had one or get your own started.
The other advice I got was to get a new battery so we did that. Now I just hope this weather doesn't interfere anymore, it's tricky enough driving around these days as it is.
In other news, Chip and Joanna Gaines are having another baby! Must be why they decided this was the last season of Fixer Upper.
