We have had a spectacular summer here in St. Louis...until the tail end of August showed up. Now we get the 100 degree temps and humidity in the 70's. No one has had the time to adapt to the heat while trying to keep doing the jobs which have to be done. I do feel sorry for lawn company workers and highway workers and anyone else who must be outside most of the day because a sudden onslaught of high heat can be dangerous if you aren't used to it. The humidity is so high we wake up to most of our windows fogged up.
While not as painful as last winter's frigid air from the Polar Vortex, this week is still a week to not stay out too long at a time. Dogs are smarter than we are sometimes. I open the door to let Ferdie out and he backs up into the living room. No way, he tells me.
