This letter to the Post Dispatch from James Nold of Waterloo pretty much describes the problems drivers have figuring out which way to go on St Louis interstates. If you aren't local, it must be a challenge.
"I can sympathize with the poor English chap who tried to find his way around St. Louis ("Cards' fan comes to town — from England," Aug. 1). Any St. Louis metro native who has tried to find his way to the upper Muny parking lot or the history museum parking, or some other Forest Park attraction, can relate. Good thing he wasn’t trying to figure out whether or not he was on Chouteau or Manchester (yes), Chippewa or Watson (yes), Lindbergh or Kirkwood Road (yes).
From Illinois, it's worse. Try figuring out how to get to downtown from the I-44-55-70 “Kansas City” interchange, and good luck figuring out if you are close to the river and which bridge is on which route. There is no mention of any bridges.
Really, what is this, Boston? We could do better giving a chimp a crayon and a whiteboard."
