We finally made it to Katie and Charlie's house in Maryland around ten last night. The two little boys were as patient and cheerful about this overlong trip as we could possibly asked for. There were no scuffles, crying, fighting, just a sort of acceptance of a new adventure.
The thing that made this trip about 3 hours longer than normal was a tractor trailer crash into an embankment near the West Virginia border on I-70. That incident totally stopped traffic for miles and yes, we were in the jam too. This took an hour and 45 minutes for us to creep past the crash point. Just after passing that spot, it began to rain and the wind blew and continued until we finally got to Rockville.
So, we're proud of the boys and were bone weary last night. But everything ended safely and we have a new appreciation for the adaptation of circumstances by children.
Clouds and rain
And for some miles as we dropped down into Maryland from the Pennsylvania Turnpike, a huge full rainbow.
Today was slower, but here came the bubbles and a walk with Riley.
