New Illinois legislation: "Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed legislation Sunday that prevents ticket quotas from being used to evaluate a police officer's performance.
It also prohibits a county or municipality from requiring a police officer to issue a specific number of tickets within a certain period of time."
And speaking of tickets, an update on Dale's speed camera ticket mailed to him from East St. Louis. A letter was sent telling him his ticket has been invalidated, probably because a judge ruled those tickets were illegal shortly after he received his. But there are still a couple of cameras on 64 east and west as you drive across the bridge. They are on the east end of the bridge on the green signs-the east signage camera is on the grouping which has a yellow sign pointing to Cahokia and just across the way on the west bound is another, with exit 3rd street in yellow. There had been another camera just in the westbound lanes a bit further east, but I have not noticed this one lately.
Just an FYI in case they reactivate them.
