Today, early this morning and tonight, will feature the full moon known as the Strawberry Moon. The story has it that it got its name from the Algonquin Indians who saw it as the time when strawberries were ripe and ready for picking. Of course this tribe was located in the northeastern part of the US where strawberries are a bit later than we find in St. Louis.
The oddity about this Strawberry full moon is that it falls on Friday the 13th, something which has not happened since 1919 and will not happen again until 2049. So have a look at a once in a lifetime Strawberry moon.
