Lizzie was forced to make note of a momentous birthday yesterday and so we went out and did something rather memorable. Dale was out of town and Darren was working so we women took the 3 boys for an early evening picnic on Art Hill in Forest Park. What a beautiful place for a picnic and so much space for kids to run or roll all the way down to the water's edge or climb up on statues as people always do by the Art Museum.
There's something about skewering pieces of fruit that makes kids just want to keep eating.
Lots of play.
I like this picture of Connor getting ready to boot the soccer field as far down Art Hill as he could. Way at the bottom is Christian waiting for the ball. We asked Connor to please try not to whack the guy laying in the grass.
A bit of baseball
Then some silly photos
Good old St. Louis, still on his horse.
At the end, Nick and Christian took down the table
And then home to cake on fire
All in all a place everyone should take the time to have a picnic. Fresh air, exercise, any food you want to bring, even wine. Great for kids and grownups.
