A few weeks ago I decided it was time to wash windows because the winter weather, wind and dust wreaked havoc on them. But I didn't want to use Windex or any other commercial cleaner and I did want to use a squeegee to see how that worked. So I googled around until I found a fantastic window cleaner you make with ordinary products. It works so well I want to share it.
Combine in a quart spray bottle: 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 cups warm water. Shake til combined and get cleaning.
I have no idea why cornstarch in the mix helps but in any event after spraying, squeegeeing off and wiping the excess with a terry or microfiber cloth, the window were perfect and with much less effort than windex and paper towels or..vinegar and newspaper.
