With President Obama visiting Pope Francis leading the news today, this photograph from 1967 surfaced. President Johnson presenting a gift to Pope Paul VI when he was in Rome.
LBJ gave the Pope a bust of himself. LOL. Have to wonder where this ended up.
Woodrow Wilson was the first US president to make a papal visit and not until Dwight Eisenhower took office did it happen again. In total, 12 presidents have made visits to the Vatican.
