The new I-70, Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge over the Mississippi River will open for vehicle traffic on Sunday at noon. But, on Saturday (tomorrow) the bridge will open for people to walk across-noon til 4, hold a 6K run at 8 am, as well as cycling time trials at 10. At 2 there will be an official ribbon cutting with ceremonies on the middle of the bridge.
I would love do the walk part, but it's so darn cold, they don't want dogs, and I am not sure of the parking logistics on either side of the river. I've become a wuss this winter. Ferdie and I walked the new highway 64 just before it opened for traffic and it was fun, lots of people brought their dogs so I don't understand why this highway bridge is prohibiting them.
