Ferdie to Bob

  • Boojferd
Dear Bob, here are some photos of my life here on the campus of Concordia Seminary. I love kids, working with the grounds crew, swimming, playing with my dog friends, and especially my own family people.

And the best time to see that sunset in the Flint Hills is when the Kansas City symphony is performing there! THAT is a bucket list kind of thing. Truly amazing.

    Diane Meyer

Kathy, I did not know the symphony played in the hills. But one year I was leaving Emporia to head back to St. Louis and got on 35 going the wrong direction and ended up driving for miles through the Flint Hills because exits are few and far between. At first I was just frustrated at the driving time I was losing but all at once I became aware of the surroundings and it just floored me with its beauty.

Those are the sunsets I am blessed to see every day :)) The Flint Hills actually is an area of 22 counties in eastern Kansas from near the Nebraska border south to Oklahoma (and stretch into 2 counties in Oklahoma). The Flint Hills Discovery Center just opened a couple years ago in Manhattan and there is also the Tall Grass Prairie preserve near Cottonwood Falls. And if you are interested in the annual concert, check out symphonyintheflinthills.org
