Yesterday afternoon I filled a 3 quart multi purpose sauce pan with water and put it on the stove to boil so I could cook up some pasta for a macaroni salad. Well, I went in the other room to wait for it to boil, got distracted reading and forgot about it until the pan was totally dry and ruined. The inside bottom of the pan now has waves of white and tan which means I pretty much destroyed it. I liked that pan because it could be used for many things including making chili. I have to replace it but would also like to get a pot more suitable to making pasta.
I have a tall stock pot which many people use for spaghetti, but it's heavy and too tall for the dishwasher which means hand washing all the time. Is there a pasta pot that is wide enough to do the job, tall enough for long spaghetti but short enough for the dishwasher? And be used for other things like chili?
We have a odd lot of pots and pans sizes, many too small for most things. One way too big. Which is why I pretty much use one pan for just about everything.
I'd like to take a ride over to B&J Restaurant Supply. The coolest place around and the prices for good quality cookware can't be beat even by Walmart's cheaper items. Take a look at the prices for those beautiful baking sheet pans you see used by Food Network people. Unreal.
