Haven't decided whether this weekend's story is funny or exasperating. Let's begin with something Dale said during his chapel sermon Friday morning. He related that there are times when he'd like to get into my head to know what I was thinking. Haha. Very funny. My response later that day was that if he'd listen to what I say to him each day, he'd know what I was thinking. I'm not one to beat around the bush...so to speak.
So Saturday comes and we needed two more outdoor flood lights in order to light up the campus Nativity stable. He was going to Lowes so he said he'd pick them up. I showed him exactly what we needed, explained they should be par 38 bulbs and the package had to say "outdoor".
He came home with a 3 pack of Indoor bulbs, totally not going to work. The word Indoor was written on the package in big letters. He had to make another trip to exchange them and the second trip was successful.
Then on Sunday he was going to stop on his way home from church for something and I mentioned we were about out of Keurig coffee K cups and that I'd get them on my way home from Collinsville. But he said, no, I'll be going right by such and such a store which carries them and that he'd get them. I explained the type of K-cups he needed to get and where it was in the store he was going to.
When he got home he began pulling 5 boxes of Keurig coffee out of a bag and the first thing I noticed was the one type of coffee was not the right brand and the other type was made for the Keurig Vue maker not the K-Cup maker which is what we have. For a minute I'd hoped that maybe Keurig was using different packaging and that Dale's boxes would work out. But no.
So much for wanting to get into my head to know what I was thinking. After this weekend he will probably not have to wonder. And, after having to make extra trips to stores to exchange wrong items, he'll either listen to me a bit harder or he'll never volunteer to shop again.
