This is interesting albeit confusing. MoDOT will be closing a couple of ramps on the Poplar tonight and tomorrow night to do some maintenance. Here are the instructions for drivers on northbound I-55 heading east across the bridge:
"Commuters should use westbound I-70 to Salisbury Avenue, turn around on the bridge, and take eastbound I-70 to get onto the PSB."
I read this last night and try as I might, I could not picture how to do this. Thought maybe I was overly tired and couldn't think straight. But this morning it still makes no sense.
On Thursday night, "work crews will close the ramp from eastbound I-70 to the bridge between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Friday. The detour will be to continue southbound on I-55 to 7th Street, cross beneath the interstate, take a right on Marion Street, and then take northbound I-55 to get onto the PSB."
