This seemed like a story which could turn out to have some good information, after all getting all the snow off a vehicle after a storm is hard and necessary work. The Weather Channel put up this video post to help us out, but...well, here's what they had to say.
1. Dress warm before you go out
2. Spray the windshield with a combination of water and vinegar or rubbing alcohol before the snow hits
3. Use a leaf blower to blow the snow off. I can just see that happening
4. Use a cigarette lighter to heat your key when melting the ice from the locks.
I'd advise for number 4, just don't lock your car if a snow/ice storm is coming
