A new fitness study!! This one tries to convince us of the remarkable benefits of standing during the day. So good is standing for at least 3 hours (and it isn't clear if the 3 hours must be all at once) that it burns the same amount of calories per year as running 3 marathons.
That's right. Standing is better than sitting all day, I agree. But is standing a lot each day as good as having run marathons? The commenters to this study/story do not agree. I do think being able to stand rather than sit each day much better for us but maybe not to the extent purported in this study.
