That's how this government shutdown and lack of a passed budget is going. For every democrat who points the finger of blame at the republicans, a republican points the finger at democrats. Who you believe depends on what party you side with. I'd bet there are plenty of republicans and democrats in congress who, if left to their own devices, could sit down and hammer out a plan where each side gave something to end the shutdown and pass a budget. But..
It's a nasty day and age and the polarization is helped along by the ease of communication via social media. Activists on both sides can make a big noise which, while it shouldn't, does intimidate our elected officials. Plus, having platform of immediacy, also helps hardline members of congress in both parties who want to keep the fight going.
Nothing will change unless the internet is shutdown until a deal is made. And we know how much chance of that happening is.
