Maybe I shouldn't have downloaded the new Apple operating system ios 7 right before I went to bed. I was reading so many updates from friends who had done this and were wowed by it that I jumped in before getting a bit more information about what was in store.
The new system's background is very plain and edit buttons are in a very light colored and thin font. The traditional icons have changed color and even the apps behind them look different. For example, the memo pad is no longer yellow but white. Hard to get used to.
Even Safari has changed in how you go about surfing.
They've added a passcode lock which requires you to come up with a 4 digit number to keep your iphone protected. The issue I had last night was that the passcode lock number was required to open the iphone even after it went to sleep after a minute or two. Very frustrating. This morning I experimented around settings until I found a way to stop that.
I do like the new camera and its editing tools. Frankly although I'm not ready to download this to my iPad, my first reaction is that this is much more suited to the iPad than the iPhone.
Here's a lengthy and rather involved review of the 7.0
