With members making $175,000 a year, health benefits, pensions and other perks, it's hard to consider any of them poor. And lots of the members have spouses working in government jobs, or for their campaign committee or working for lobbyist making big dollars. If they are not able to save some money, then they should be considered "poor money manager".
Of course, by their votes on many financial matters, they have already demonstrated a poor understanding of basic finances and economics.
