Too many drivers do not obey the construction zone speed limit and the big trucks are most apt to zoom through. While admittedly I do not like being backed up in one construction zone after another, I am very careful to drive the posted speed limit..or less depending on where the workers are standing.
Yesterday on the way to Collinsville while driving with everyone else funneling onto 55/70 because 64 was closed, it was just mind-boggling how fast everyone was going. Workers were right there along the edge and cars, SUVs and tractor trailers were just flying. I guess the added traffic was going to see just how fast they could do the detour and get back to 64, but it was ridiculous and I wished I'd had a dashboard video cam to record it all.
Maybe these people will be getting a construction area speeding ticket in the mail after being caught by a camera. Who knows. There wasn't any visible radar around.
