The Federal Department of the Treasury: spent $170K trips to Hawaii for tax collectors, has $3.5 billion in unpaid taxes by federal employees from 2011, and gave an alternative energy tax credit that has sent approximately 4,500 jobs overseas.
Instead of furloughing essential employees, maybe that department should look into these things.
In just the past week, the money spent on these wasteful spending items would have kept people working.
