Color photographs of the B-17 (Flying Fortresses) bombers which flew from England to bomb Germany during WWII are rare and these taken by the one of the best photographers of that era, Margaret Bourke-White are amazing. The detail and color is as good as the day they were taken. Bourke-White was one of 4 of Life Magazine's original staff photographers and the first woman authorized or accredited to cover WWII.




Thank you for the link. My father in law was a navigator on a B-24 and flew a unheard of 52 missions. The stories I hear bring tears to my eyes, it is a miracle he came home.
