Recently we've changed from liquid laundry detergent to pods and the ease of use has made us wonder if they clean as they should. At first we began using them when I came across the small 14 pod bags on sale for just a couple of dollars and decided to try them. We like them because I find them much less messy than liquid or powder, have no box or plastic container to recycle, just toss in and go, and Dale likes them because "they're cute."
Consumer reports did a study on which pod detergent does the best job and concluded that only Tide Pods earned the Consumer Reports recommendation. That is what we've been using. The cost is pretty much the same per load as the more traditional soaps.
If you want to use what CR found as the absolute best at cleaning you'll want powdered Tide with bleach.
As with everything these days there's a poison warning. Don't eat the pods.

I use a Target product. It's a pump thing and I do four pumps for a full load.

I've been trying 'Goat Milk Stuff', made from Goat's milk, by an Indiana family. It actually is great if you have skin sensitivities and also for babies. They provide additional information such as 'white vinegar' for softness, etc.
