This is great news, finally, for downtown St. Louis. Workers began demolishing the remains of Powell Square building which has stood at the convergence of I-44/55 and the Poplar Street Bridge. It was nothing but large cement posts and roof structure which had every square inch painted with graffiti. It was a horrible looking mess serving no purpose. Why it stood in this condition for so long is the mystery.
