When things like a presidential inaugural or presidential funeral take place, we see our country at its best. Beautiful ceremonies, color guards, flags, inspiring music reflecting a grandeur of place and history.
But sometimes the reaction to these things and the people involved by our media is contradictory. Yesterday it was all respect and adoration. Maybe this is what it always should be at times like this. But in 2005 things were different and no one thought twice about making jokes at the expense of the president and his family.
I'll be sort of interested to see what our late night comedians have to say about this year's inaugural on their monologues tonight.

Don't hold your breath. The MSM and many liberals not only disliked and hated Bush's policies by disliked and hated him personnally. He was a country bumpkin in their eyes.
The same MSM and liberals adore Obama personnally and his policies. Why some even get a tingle up their leg!!!

Meanwhile, over at Fox, Britt Hume whining that the Inaugural not friendly enough for Tea Party members. And 'reporter' James Rosen complaining during what was supposed to be a news report that there was too much about Civil Rights.
Heck, Fox can't stand down for 24 hours.

Fox can't stand down, Rand. My gosh have you looked at CNN or MSNBC lately?

And NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, PBS, New York Times, Wash. Post to name just a few.
Interesting how the liberals can't stand having one news source that doesn't tow the line, while they have dozens and dozens with slant reporting.

It's not that I can't stand having Fox around, but obviously I don't care for them. I just find hard to swallow all the whining your side does about MSM bias while buying into the "Fair and Balanced" Fox. Y'all don't like NBC, CBS, etc?? Don't watch them. And if enuf of you do that maybe they will change their ways. Except NPR & PBS I'd say all off the media mentioned are profit motivated. I'd say the majority of their shareholders must be OK with the way things are. As apparently are the majority of Americans.
If MSM bias is bad, than so is the bias on Fox. Either all bias is bad, or all is OK.
And for the record I watch virtually none of it. Get most of my news from NBCNews.com (formerly MCNBC) where I can read what I want, skip what I don't want. And while I'll usually agree with Ed and Rachel, I do not need to have them think for me. Probably haven't seen 30 minutes of them in the last year, except election night. But honestly on election night I watched more Fox than anything. I figure when Fox called it, it had to be over. Karl Rove's meltdown was just an unexpected bonus.
