Lutherans may get a kick out of this piece of history.
Jack Daniels of the Tennessee whiskey fame, learned the art of whiskey making from the local Lutheran pastor, Dan Call, back in the mid 1800's.
Thus eventually became the famous Jack Daniels sour mash Tennessee whiskey tossed back by many even today.
Poor Jack died in 1906 from a gangrene infection in his toe caused by violently kicking his safe when he could not remember the combination.
