Like many people we spent most of Christmas Eve day baking and wrapping and giving the house a final once over-i.e. dusting, vacuuming, decluttering. Jennifer, Phil, Emma and Lillian and their most fantastic dog, Murphy. They were headed to their own church for the early evening childrens' program.
At Lizzie's the stockings were hung by the chimney with care
While Christian and Connor watched NBA fare.
The adults settled in to eat and talk
When all of a suddent mama made everyone balk.
It's time to get changed for church.
She brought out the pants which brought on such chatter
that we all called in, "what is the matter?'
Hint. Mention pants around small boys and you get silly willies
Then more rapid than eagles into their new clothes they flew
Because someone said, time to open a present, you two.

Then it was to Christmas Eve services
Meanwhile out in New York State Drew, Jake and their Bailey cousins were getting ready for church as well.
