An Orlando suburban school board is considering putting cameras near cafeteria trash cans to monitor the vegetables students are dumping in the trash after lunch. The school requires that students take vegetables but it appears most of them in up in the garbage.
Supposedly the cameras will allow the school to see which vegetables are most often thrown away, but how long before they begin looking at which students are doing the throwing? We have cameras watching everything we do these days and now this.
Stories from other school districts around the country which have intituted the healthy lunch programs are showing that kids are hungry because portions are smaller and the types of food are not filling or energy producing.
