Now that the two teams meeting in the World Series are known, let's take a look at what the experts predicted would happen. I use Sports Illustrated for the look back because I keep the magazine where it's easy to find.
American League
Wild Card play in game: Texas Rangers over Tampa Bay Rays
ALDS Angels over Rangers, Yankees over Tigers
ALCS-Angels over Yankees
Heh, someone thought Albert Pujos being in Los Angeles would put the Angels in the World Series.
National League
Wild Card play in game: Arizona Diamondbacks over the Florida Marlins
ALDS: Phillies over the Diamondbacks, Giants over Reds
ALCS: Giants over Phillies
World Series: Angels over the Phillies--there's that Pujols obsession again
Notice the Cardinals were not mentioned even though they were last year's World Champions. And, the experts only got 3 teams which ended up making the playoffs correct-Giants, Yankees and Tigers.

They had the Reds correct, and Texas in the Wild Card game.
