About 18 months ago members of the board of Collinsville Progress agreed to sponsor the creation of a Christmas music cd to be performed by various church choirs and city choral groups. Pat Murphy took on this huge task of lining up the choirs and finding ways to best record. He was helped during recording sessions by Joel Sprenger and Ben Martin of Ambit Audio.
Last night the cd was unveiled and dedicated at an event in the community room of the park district. Many people who were part of the choirs were there as well as the Mayor and most members of Collinsville Progress. Cd's were available for sale at the end of the program and I'm listening to it right now and it is so good. It gives me chills. Local people singing so beautifully.
To begin the program, one of Collinsville's city choral groups sang a couple of Christmas songs. They were fantastic.
Before the program began, people drifted in and found a seat or talked.
This is Pat's grandson. Isn't he cute?
The back row was filled with members of Collinsville Progress.
After the program there was cake, punch and cd sales. Hey, 10 dollars for a Christmas cd, bargain! Get one. They will be available in many places, I'll update a list later.
The cake was made by Kruta Bakery and it was decorated with Christmas tree ornaments in frosting. It tasted excellent as always and was totally gone by the end of the night.
Mayor John Miller and Pat Murphy toasted the successful completion of the cd.
While the mayor's wife, Diane, pulled out the checkbook
And others stood in line holding checks.
All the proceeds will go to the Collinsville Area Ministerial Association.

A wonderful CD and great that the proceeds will be going to the Collinsville Area Ministerial Association(CAMA) food pantry.
Just in time, as we continue to search for a new location.
