The president is going to announce a new tax plan today and all of talk radio and Twitter are buzzing with opinions. Most of the opinions have to do with fairness, is it fair to raise taxes on the job creators or is it fair that someone doesn't pay their fair share.
Whatever.
My own question is, "Why do we have to raise taxes at all?" I mean come on. The federal government is so bloated right now what possible reason do we have to give this entity more money?
And this push to tax internet sales by both parties is just one more instance of government getting more money to spend more money. The internet tax plan is not designated for any line item so it will be just more bloat and wasteful spending. More hiring or regulators to watch the web.

I agree and you analogy should apply to state and local government entities, also.
The waste make not make the headlines, but it is there, if you look!

Someone has to pay for all the wasteful Defense spending for two wars. Look at Scott Air Force Base, subsidies to Farmers, Bridge projects, etc.. Everyone wants the government to build things, but someone has to pay for it. DOD is the biggest culprit. If the illegal war was not started, imagine what could have been done for America, instead of Iraq.

And Obama just continues the funding in Afghanistan to the tune of billions of dollars each day. Six American troops killed in the last few days and deaths for the last month were about 31.

Obama better have come out with a decently acceptable plan this time. All this talk about raising taxes isn't going to do his reelection campaign any good.
