Which? One of life's more pressing questions.
Living in the southern Illinois and St. Louis areas for so many years I've accustomed myself to saying 'soda'. But my mind, I always think, 'pop'.

We always used the word " coke" as a generic word and did not use either soda or pop. I saw a map of this usage once, and the region in which I grew up was supposedly firmly ensconced in a "soda" region. I guess we never got the memo.

When I moved to Southern Ill from Central IL I guess I started saying "soda" and sometime. My Mom thought I was talking about ice cream soda! I have to be careful when I go home.
