I watch a lot of HGTV. Seriously. I watch HGTV more than any other type of programming so you'd think I'd be able to zip through wall paint choosing and buying. Well think again.
We did decide on a paint color for the living room and dining room But we thought it best to get sample quarts of two tones of this color just in case one turned out to be too deep or too faint. So off I went to the paint store, got the two quarts, washed down one section of test wall and painted a rectangle with the first jar.
The first paint color was maybe too deep. So I opened the lighter version and put it up on the wall. What the heck? It turned out baby blue. Believe me that is not what we were going for, no blue at all in those rooms.
How did one tone down from the first become blue? Looking at the paint in the jug I saw no hint of blue. Maybe the guy mixing this one skipped a tint or added too much of some tint? All of which forces me to go back to the paint store, see what the deal is and either get a corrected version or start all over again.
