The past couple of days I have been going through boxes and folders, closets and shelves looking for a CD which had my mom and dad's family photos. I don't even know if I ever had this, I just know there was a CD created which had all the pictures they put on their computer. Some of those pictures are one of a kind, but I never did find the CD. But I did come across things I had long forgotten or never knew I had.
Like this Valentine from Katie made when she was in lower grade school at Holy Cross.
I think if the picture is clicked it will get larger and easier to read. It says inside the heart: "Mom Thank You!! for finding my socks, making my meals, keeping Cory (her rabbit), buying me things, playing catch with me and more. But thank you for taking care of me I ♥ you. Katie."
Then this popped up in a box of my mom's things. It almost stopped my heart.
A very small New Testament, worn and brittle.
Inside the cover was this:
It was a typed message from FDR, probably given to all servicemen headed for duty during WWII. My dad was in the marines back then and he must have carried it with him all through the war. I am so glad to have found this.

That's too funny. Happy Valentine's Day mom...life would be "ruff" without you.
