A Missouri court ruled against citizens who filed suit hoping to get the new re-districting map changed in large part on behalf of Russ Carnahan, but no. This means Russ Carnahan is now in the same district as Lacy Clay and you have to know that primary race is not going to happen and if Carnahan does decide to take on Clay, he'd have very little chance of winning.
So it's so long to Russ although of course he'd thinking of appealing to the Missouri Supreme Court. The funny thing is, Carnahan's feeling that he's been gerrymandered out of his seat. Boy. Talk about pot and kettle. After all he was plunked into a safe district the first time he ran so that he'd be assured of winning->Dick Gephardt's old district and one which was gerrymandered for him.
What goes around comes around even in politics.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Carnahan run against Clay. Carnahan has been raising money and has more in the bank than Clay.
Clay hasn't had any real competition for years, while Carnahan sharpened his campaign skills last cycle.
Democrats will not like this battle, but Carnahan really has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
