The University of Missouri is preparing to make some noise in the SEC next year, literally. They contracted with a Georgia drum maker to build them a 9 foot tall, 800 pound drum to bang at football games. The Tigers currently have a 6 foot drum while Texas and Purdue have 8 footers. The new Mizzou drum will arguably be the biggest after a ten foot one in China.
How loud will this be? I'd bet very loud, suitable for the football stadium but not the basketball arena.
Big Mo cost $50,000.
There goes $50,000 that could be used to educate students and lower tuition and fees for those getting loans they will have trouble paying back.
