The Collinsville Kahoks basketball team won its 2000th game last night, joining only two other national high schools with 2000 wins, Centralia Illinois and Dobyns-Bennett from Kingsport Tennessee.
Anyone who has been a part of the Collinsville community for any length of time could probably rattle off the names of Kahok stars from past years without even having to pause for breath. We were not life long Collinsville residents, but we could give this list also, so strong was the Kahok influence in this city.
The first name I think of is Sam MIranda, playing in the late 40's. He'd be so excited by this latest feat. Here's a site with all of Collinsville basketball players listed by years. I've begun the link on Sam MIranda's page, but you can go forward or back as you'd like.
