Here we go again, Madison and St. Clair Counties. Back to claiming the title of judicial hellholes.
What the state legislature thought of as new law preventing malpractice abuse was negated by the Illinois Supreme Court today. The court called these caps, unconstitutional.
Two justices dissented from the majority, Lloyd Karmeier and Rita Garman.

Thhis was not unexpected by many.
It is the 3rd time similar laws have been struck down by the Illinois Supreme Court.
The better solution to passing these laws is electing and selecting more conservative judges at the local level, adn appellate level and education people serving on juries. They need to understand large awards they give, ultimatley are paid for by them, as companies pass on this on.
Few people pay attention to judicial races, but they have a huge impact on our lives.

Very sad day. We need a system like Indiana has. Only legitimate cases make it through.
This is why our medical costs are so high. I'm sure the Obama plan didn't even look at this stuff
