Who would have imagined Texas would be right there with California in production of alternative, renewable, energy? Texas is now the top producer of wind energy while California leads in solar power.
Texas set a renewable energy policy back in 1999 when George Bush was governor. California built a couple wind farms in the 1980's but too many state regulations drove that state to solar power which has fewer snags and delays in permissions.
The red state/blue state duo leading the way is fascinating stuff.

Interesting then Governor Bush helped to lead the way in renewable energy policy before it became all the rage. Maybe, Gore should have shared the Nobel prize he received with Bush, since Gore has done nothing other than blow hot air on the global warming subject.

Environmentally speaking, Bush is universally regarded as absolutely one of the worst Presidents of all time. If he did something positive as governor, God bless him.

Not strange! Both states have been the big energy producers/ leaders for years. Oil and Gas. So new forms of energy that fit the geograghy/landscape will be developed in these states. They have the "oil money" to invest in these type of ventures. Always follow the money!
